It is a concept by Shawn Ealy for a custom hot rod Bentley built by Walker for the crowd at Barrett Jackson. It features a clean candy fade over burgundy base with a cream top and a purple stripe to give it a clean, two-tone, hot rod look! It will be something to see when the guys at Walkers get it completed.

I met Tommy G. a few years ago. He's not only a cool guy, but one of the most amazing musicians in the Midwest. He has played in so many bands over the last 20 years, and is now with the Blackhawks, as their official band. Check out Tommy G. on Facebook, or with his other well known band, 90's Daughter.

Many times I get a chance to help out with my art work. One of the ways this is possible is donating my art for fundraising. A life long friend, Sharron, contacted me with a story of a special needs young girl. The story she told inspired me and I created this painting with her in mind.
I pray it brings hope to the girl and all those near her.

I met Rich while working with my friends at Fifth Dimension. He has been pondering doing some artwork on his truck for sometime. Rich is a military vet who served this country and is very passionate about America. The painting and the lettering on his mural display Mr. McCool's passion and ideas accurately.
I enjoyed working with Rich. He really out a lot of thought into this piece of art.

Shuman Helmet

Mark Shuman is the race director for the Illinois Viper Club. Word on the street is Shuman has the time to beat when it comes to racing Vipers.
Shawn Ealy and the team at Fifth Dimension came up with an incredible helmet design for Shuman. It features realistic sheds peeling back and revealing an American flag and racing flag, shadowed under black candy pearl-an effect you have to see in the sunlight to appreciate!

Scot Davis, of Davis Electric, brought us 2 new Bell helmets to design for the drivers of his race team. Scot, father of Christian Davis and Brooks Davis, thought up the color and ideas for the design. He wanted Shawn to use the same concept and color, but make them different. This is what Shawn came up with for the helmets.

Rick brought me this 1933 Plymouth hot rod. It sports a custom purple paint job, it just needed a little pinstripe flair to set it off. I used coral pink and process blue to give it that extra little touch to set it off!

We bought Kimmy in the small town of Zarghun Khalay, Helmund Province, Afghanistan for about the American equivalent of $10. Many of the men on the team had people in their lives named Kim. So naturally we named our critter Kimmy. She rode with us on all of our missions. On Feb. 8, 2009 at 10:32 a.m. we lost Lt. Jared Southworth, and SSG Jason Burkholder to an IED blast. Jason was Kimmy's favorite, and Jared wasn't far behind; both of these men were dear friends to me and Kimmy was now a token of a memory I had. My mother found an organization that works in lockstep with the ASPCA called "Tigger House" that worked to send animals out of Afghanistan to Quetta, Pakistan, from there flying to Frankfurt, Germany and on to NYC, USA. Her final leg of the journey was to Chicago, Illinois, where my family was waiting to pick her up and take her home. Today she and I both live a more peaceful existence in Arthur, Illinois running and gun and outdoor named for her.

Truck T-Shirt

It has been over 20 years since I airbrushed my first t-shirt. Many times, when I am painting a shirt, I am still reminded of my first t-shirt shop at the indoor swap meet in Las Vegas. I had a great time. I miss those days, especially the people. I must have painted a couple thousand shirts. I am sure there is someone out there who still has a shirt from those days!

Since I customize vehicles for a living, I have had many painted trucks and cars over the years. The longer I airbrush and pinstripe, the more I learn about the art, and about people. In many projects the art is all about expression--an extension of the owner's personality--and that is exactly what I did on my new truck. I really didn't think too much about what the trend is, just what I though to be cool, stories of my life. Some of the things my friends and I enjoy turn out in the ideas and colors on the job. I created this with the help of my friends at Fifth Dimension, and it is one of my personal favorites! I knew a lot of designs would look good so I decided to just get working and the best ideas came to me. I left enough room to do black and white images on the hood, tailgate, and down the sides.
On the tailgate I wanted the feeling of America and the freedom of the open road. It features wild animals roaming free and an old pickup on the road, as well as an eagle with a wing open and flowing. I used a modern copper to capture a similar, yet more moderns take on the idea kept in the black and white coloring to give it that old feel.

The hood features the streets of Las Vegas in the 1940's, and even an old time gangster looking at a woman, an idea that my friend Kent and I thought was a good one.
